1. Behaviour and Dress Code:
- The organizer is responsible for ensuring participants behave appropriately, adhere to tee times, and have the correct dress code.
- Players should carry insurance cover for their protection.
- Play must be from designated tees (yellow or red).
- Slow play should be avoided.
- Players must replace divots, repair pitch marks, and avoid taking buggies or trolleys onto greens, tees, or bunkers.
- Bunkers should be raked after playing.
- The organizer is liable for any damage caused by their party.
- Sponsorship signs require authorization from the Director of Golf.
2. Dress Code:
- Smart attire is expected on the course.
- Acceptable wear includes tailored trousers, collared shirts, and knee-length shorts.
- Unacceptable wear includes denim, tracksuits, and non-golfing footwear.
3. Clubhouse Rules:
- Golf shoes are not allowed in the main bar areas.
- Only food and drink purchased from the club may be consumed on the premises.
- Alcohol brought from outside is not permitted.
4. Pace of Play:
- Slow play detracts from enjoyment.
- Call through players if held up.
- Adopt a “READY GOLF” approach to maintain pace.
5. Event Fees and Payment:
- Participants must pay the specified entry fee for each golfing event.
- Payment should be made in advance or on the day of the event.
- Late entries may incur additional charges.
- Refunds are subject to the organizer’s discretion (e.g., due to cancellation or withdrawal).
6. Sponsorship and Advertising:
- Commercial sponsors may contribute to event costs.
- Sponsorship agreements should be formalized in writing.
- Sponsors may receive advertising space on promotional materials, scorecards, or banners.
7. Prizes and Payouts:
- Prizes (e.g., for winners, longest drive, or nearest the pin) may be sponsored or funded by the society.
- Payouts should be clearly defined (e.g., cash, vouchers, or merchandise).
- Prize distribution should occur promptly after the event.
8. Financial Transactions:
- Participants must pay the specified entry fee for each golfing event.
- Payment should be made in advance or on the day of the event.
- Late entries may incur additional charges.
- Refunds are subject to the organizer’s discretion (e.g., due to cancellation or withdrawal).
9. Event Cancellation:
- If an event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather conditions), the organizer will communicate alternative arrangements or refund options.
- In case of cancellation, participants may receive a full or partial refund, depending on the circumstances.
10. Player Withdrawals:
- If a player wishes to withdraw from an event, they should notify the organizer promptly.
- Withdrawals before a specified deadline (e.g., 48 hours before the event) may be eligible for a refund.
- Late withdrawals (after the deadline) may not receive a refund unless exceptional circumstances apply.
11. Information Errors:
- The golf society strives to provide accurate information regarding events, tee times, and other relevant details.
- However, the society is not liable for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the information provided.
- Participants should verify event details independently.
12. Website Downtime:
- The golf society’s website may experience occasional downtime due to maintenance, technical issues, or other reasons.
- The society will make reasonable efforts to minimize disruptions.
- Participants should check alternative communication channels (e.g. email or phone) if the website is unavailable.
